Bangladesh, the NSDC (National Skills Development Council) is playing supreme national body for TVET. The NSDC is responsible for implementing a national policy for skills development, overseeing key reforms, coordinating activities, and monitoring the implementation of TVET. The Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) develops learning materials and awards diplomas and certificates to learners affiliated with it. The BTEB holds the jurisdiction to organize, supervise, regulate, control, and develop technical and vocational education across Bangladesh. The prime objective of the Techni cal and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Reform Project in Bangladesh is to ensure the participation of Bangladesh as a competitor in the global job market and to reduce poverty by improving the quality and content of vocational education and training.
As we know, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is a vital tool to improve individuals’ employment opportunities, increase industry productivity, and reduce poverty. In Bangladesh, however, the TVET system needs to be enhanced by good links with industry, outdated curricula and delivery strategies, and little flexibility to respond to training needs at the local level. The Government of Bangladesh has adopted National Technical and Vocational Qualifications Frameworks (NTVQF) to align the qualifications available in the country to reflect better the growing and changing occupational and skill profiles in both domestic and international labour markets. The (NSDP) of Bangladesh desires that all training institutions deliver training in a manner aligned with the NTVQF.
